Ride: AU XR8 220 Manual

hi all. i have bought myself an NC fairlane which i am fixing up. i am wondering if they come with a factory immoboliser? the vehicle has central locking which is opened and closed via a 'beeper' that came with the car. does this activate the immobolisor? also if it has one does this mean that i cannot put an alarm on the car that has a built in immobolisor?

another question is that the boot release isnt working in this car. the other button on this beeper, the smaller button is apparently a boot release. when i press the button the lights flash on the car but the boot remains locked. the same thing occurs when i press the boot release inside the car, the boot remains locked. what is most likely to be the fault here?

Cheers all!

Depending on the year model, they did have an immobilization device called Smartlock.
