hey every one i am takeing a 5 sp out of a crapy old ea to do a conversion on mine
the problem is i have taken out all of the bolts from the bell housing and the towl shaft and the bracket and the gear box is not coming out so then i took the bell housing plate off and i couldnt see any bolts that are conected to the pressure plate so my question is do i just need to force the gear box off or do i need to unbolt the gear box from the bell housing and maybe there are a few bolts inside i need to take off cheers

may i suggest taking the bellhousing off the gear box and slide the box back gives you more room to remove the bell housing of the motor it should all slide off with ease if not it may be seized

unbolted starter motor ? lol
Do what froudey said and unbolt the gearbox from the bellhousing (4 bolts, 2 either side) then it should slide off pretty easy, although sometimes they take a bit of gentle caressing. Once the gearbox is off it will be easy to see if you missed any bolts on the bellhousing. |

I'm guessing since you have removed the starter motor, you have also removed the clutch cable? Double check that there aren't any bolts left, especially the ones along the top of the bell housing which are a b**ch to get to. Also try and get someone to lift the front of the engine up, that way you get more room to clear the bell housing from the firewall. phong =P~
