picked up a clevo short motor off a mate and was sussing out what tools i'd need to pull out the crank and i found the engine numbers it says JG37
i know that the GTs' are JG33 and the regulars are JG26 Can any one tell me what JG 37 is please

as far as i can find out a jg37 is a standard bore block so i think it must be fairly standard.

apparently jg37 is a 302 windsor with cleveland additions like water pump. Not too sure how reliable the source is i got this info from however. Maybe take the engine no to ford they should be able to give you details

hmm interesting i've pulled the pistons and rods out and there the originals they got FoMoCo stamped on em but its got a roll master timing chain and clevite bearings the motor has sat around for quite a while and as far as i can tell it hasn't been rebuilt before no gasket sealant or anything like that

That should answer your question - Engine type is determined by engine code on compliance plate if you post the code and year model I should be able to find if its H/C or L/C 4V 2V etc |

thanks man thats a huge help eh. thanks for the offer but i just got heaps of clevo parts lying around so i just bought the block to build a motor and sell it so that way i got get rid of a heap of crap taking up space, i could use that space for a spare gearbox of diff
