Was just wondering I see at car shows and various other events that have either a drag or burnout setup these manual cars can just stand still and spin the wheels like and auto (auto step on the brake and get into it)

is manual something similair step in the brake heel and toe with the alleclerator and drop the clutch?

just wanting to know i am sum what curious on how it is done.

it's called knowing how to drive: i can sit my next to stock internalled manual ea on the brake all day even on the coursest of roads (causing creep) just by letting the power out at the right time with the right amount of braking force.

i've had more problems with a mates auto ef xr. which i think is funny. but still all down to the operator, apparently i can't drive autos, probably because i think they should all be melted down to make something more usefull.

doesn't explain how it is intiated? in theory it should be as simple as holding the brake and allerator heel and toe and dropping the clutch with the perfect amount of revs

jack the a** end of the car up enough so the wheels just make contact with the surface and floor it work both in auto and manual make sure the brake light in the window works aswell otherwise it wont do burn outs

or instead of the heal toe method just dump the clutch and jump straight on the brake..
easy :)

maybe you've only seen people with some skill doing it as i cant get a manual on te brakes with out a big rev dump and jumping on the breaks (see i have no skill) causing a big jolt and then going to 2nd is much the same proces but some mates do it as easy as i do in my auto!!

,..... im still lost as too the jacking up the car and stop light comment? :?

Yeh its not hard if your cars got some grunt - ie most maunal falcons.

Clutch dump at > 4500 rpm + full throttle. Gives you plenty of time to jump on the brakes. If your seriously into burnouts I highly recommend purchasing a B&M Line Locker kit, so you dont wear out you rear pads and rotors stupidly fast - theyre only 75 plus post IIRC, plus fitting.

Also going into 2nd can be done with very minimal movement of the car if your quick enough, but if your doing doughies and figure 8s then it doesnt really matter how long you take.

engage the clutch..
slot into 1st gear..
rev to 3500rpm.. (my car)
let out clutch fast..
once the wheels start spinning fast..-keep the right foot planted on the throttle.. and jump your left foot from the clutch onto the brake pedal and balance braking with engine revs to either sit on the spot/creep forward or initiate a dohnut.. :wink:

keep in mind if your back pads are still operational that this will be causing massive heat soak to the brakes/calipers/disc's and pads.. -not to mention extra strain on the driveline to turn not only the tyre's overcoming the cars weight over them but also the brakes effectivly trying to stop them turning too!....
