How do I stop the slots in my rotors from rusting up in that horrible orange colour?
I have painted my calipers and hubs but I wasn't so sure about painting out the slots.

Dont do anything. Paint or anything else could glaze your rotors and pads and reduce braking.

Brake harder so they fill up with brake dust.

Thats the reason why I didn't put paint in them. Painting anywhere near the surface just does not seem like a good idea. What do the guys with showcars do to stop them looking ugly and orange?

Do you drive the car often?
Honestly I've never had a problem with them staying orange when the car is driven. When it sits for a while they get a bit of surface rust, but they clear up completely.

I have only just fitted them. The car does not get driven all that much to be honest. After the wash it probably only moved a couple of metres, which was enough to clean the rotor surface. You may well be right if i take it for a longer drive.

A longer drive should clean off the surface rust, just a bit of heat in the rotors should do the job.

Surely you could remove the calipers, clean out the rust, mask up the rotor faces and use a high temp paint, if you're that way inclined. I guess with big open alloy rims the disc edges can be seen.
