Hi guys,
Driving home tonight the trans decides to crap itself, It shifts from 1st to third and doesnt go to 4th. I manually selected 2nd and it didnt even do a thing, was like i was putting it into neutral. When going below 40k it will shift from 3rd to 1st, then when taking off from stand still it will rev to about 4000rpm (no matter how fast/slow i take off) then shift aggresively into 3rd and stay there. Trans oil is still nice and pink.

Whats goin on here?! is it cheap to fix or is it T5 time

Cheers,
Mason

In terms of a new T5...Awesome. In terms of money....F***. lol

They are not cheap here, looking at about $3G's for the T5 setup, and thats if ya can find one. As for another auto, around $1000+

FFS it could be only a $50 soleniod maybe even the shift soleniod. Have a diagnostic ran and see what comes up in the fault codes. Something you can check yourself before that is the plug on the passenger side of the trans, unplug the round one and give the pins a spray with WD40 or simlar the plug back in. The solenoids are easy to replace on the valve body but will require the fluid to be drained and the filter removed. Depending on what soleniod is at fault with a new filter and gasket plus fluid it will set you back no more that $150.
