I do it all the time, sometimes im putting in 5L 98ron petrol with 500ml's of lucas two stroke oil and 500ml's of methylated spirits.

It actually idles brilliantly, i only put it all in there cos i use lpg 99% of the time and the metho keeps the octane rating up on the fuel for longer so i can use less fuel, plus even though the lpg is being used the petrol be continuously being circulated around the fuel lines.

The ethanol is not good for your fuel lines but not at that tiny amount.

But no, decent two stroke oil will actually be better than no two stroke oil, in my opinion.

Where did you all get the 2-stroke petrol from?

2 stroke fuel is just normal petrol mixed with oil, as 2 strokes need the oil in the fuel for lubrication..

In the old days they used to add upper cylinder lube at service stations.. Was called Red Ex.. That's back when they filled your car up for you..
Sheesh showing my age!!!
Add a little caster oil..
The rotary guys use it when running alcohol to lube and prevent the corroding that can take place..
Smells nice too.. 1/2 cup a tank...
I had an old 180B that was bought as run around car and to drive to work etc..
It was quite smokey esp after start up!!
I added some 2 stroke mix on way home as I was low on $$ and fuel. I had some 2 stroke as I was cutting lawns back then part time..
Well !! After I filled up with normal fuel the car didn't smoke.. I guess it freed up the rings ??
This car 400,000 when I sold it and the odo didn't work the last 2 years..
It won't hurt cats either if 2 stroke .. If that was the case all the Holden genlll's that had oil issues would have stuffed cats..Lol...

ive got about 20 litres of premixed fuel from last christmas that was in a sealed jerry can. It has 400ml's of marine 2 stroke mixed with it.

Do you think 2-3 litres every week will do damage to my ef?

I don't want to run it in my outboard motor..

last xmas - throw it out
it will be stale by now and will make your car run like s**t

What rating oil would you use?
And is it regular 91RON that you'd use for the petrol?

I can't speak for others, but i only use regular unleaded when i'm making up 2stroke fuel for whatever i need to run it in.

I have used 2stroke in a car when i was desperate, didn't see any ill effects except a tiny amount of smoke from the tail pipe when just taking off.

Cheers

dosent anyone read the bottle or the web site anymore , lets try fuel aditives first ever wounder why theres two types of fuel cleaner , one for efi with cat and normal for carby and dosent matter which brand dont use it the wrong way round - BECAUSE THE EXTRA PARTICULATE IN THE EXHAUST STREAM BURNS TOO HOT FOR THE CAT.

i wounder why a two stroke dosent have a cat?????

98 ron fuel , check for example the bp site they actualy state that the fuel gains ron with age - done know for sure but havent ever had any go off yet thats been stored.

just my thoughts
