Hey, i have a few questions. My parents EA and EB are both on gas and have the thermostat with the tail. They haven't had any problems. Should they put the other thermostat on it or is it fine as it is??

Normally if freezing occurs it happens a few hundred metres or so after the car has been cold started in cold weather, and the car either slows down and stutters, or stalls. I can't say for sure if they aren't having partial lpg freezing, but i've never heard of this being a problem. If they aren't having a problem but for example start the car at Falls Creek one day, they might have a temporary problem. Normally if you give the converter a few seconds or minutes to defrost you can start the car and it goes fine from there, because your first attempt warmed things up enough for the second attempt to work.

I made a comment earlier about moving the temp sensor to the AU's head sensor with regard to loss of coolant situations . . . , this would only give a reliable temp guage reading on an EF/EL, because their guage runs off the same sender as the ecu. On an EA-ED the temp guage would still read the same and may stop near the halfway mark when coolant is lost because it has it's own sender. I knew this too well but it didn't click at the time i made the comment.
