Just want some advice on how to adjust the tps, do i just follow the thread about the base idle and tps? and would i have to disconnect the negative lead?. I'm just upgrading the t/b and just want to get it right!!. Any advice will be appreciated. Cheers, Jason. |

If you run into any trouble just let us know.
Biggest problem I had? I wasnt getting a reading at all... I was using pins with the little plastic balls on the end. Switched to needles and got readings straight away haha. |

Do you have the two tps 's?, if so did you do it by yourself?, or is it abit tricky?. Also with the pin trick ,can you use a bit of fencing wire with a sharp point at the end?, will that work? as i haven't got the needle pins in the sticky!! Any advice will be appreciated, as i'm going to have a go at it today. Thanx again mate, Cheers, Jason. |

Hey buddy, Yeah i have the 2 TPS's.
Just take your time and remember that it only needs tiny movements to get it set. I had to elongate the holes through both TPS's to get the correct reading. I also could only fit one screw back in as the AU throttle body was a little different.. This is the cheap'a*** dodgy way of doing it, but as long as its done up tight enough it will be fine. (Mine hasnt moved since i have done it). Id say anything that gives you a reading will be fine, i suppose it just needs good contact, otherwise you will get an incorrect reading, and you will know because it will drive like crap. |

Most multimeters have sharp points on their probes... I just use that straight in the wires coming out of the tps.

I got a problem with my revs, after i changed my t/b and adjusted the tps as to the sticky in here, when i stab on the throttle it hangs about 1200rpm and after about 2 seconds it goes back to bout 825rpm, is 825rpm a good idol or should it be abit lower such as bout 750-800rpm for a auto?. And with my rev hang what have i done wrong?, do i need to start again? , also i didn't check the voltage after i started it , should i have double checked it that way aswell?. But other than that, its running fine.. Any advice will be appreciated, Cheers, Jason. |

Rev hang will be caused by base idle too high.
Dis-connect ISC and start engine, bring to operating temp and set base idle with idle screw. I think you'd wanna be around 750rpm in neutral. Turn engine off and connect ISC. Set TPS's to 0.98v with ignition on but engine off. Start engine and check.

I have got the AU XR8 t/b thats been bored out to 70mm and a blank EGR spacer, (the same as AU). I noticed the throttle and auto kick down cable's were about 5-10mm away (towards front of car). i done the procedure with it connected and disconnected, still no differance. With the gaskets i made them myself out of gasket paper, i don't know if i have done something wrong there, i made my own b4 with my old t/b and no prob's there. Anymore advice will be appreciated, it's got me stummped!!! . Cheers Jason. |
