Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knows the difference between the EB I/EB II and ED Falcon/Fairmont taillights... for example in reflector design, lens material, reflector material etc.

As for the EA lights... well the difference between the EA and EB/ED is immediate so I don't really need an answer for them:p

The reason why I am so curious is because I am sick and tired of the almost dull EB Series 1 taillights and want to increase the lumen output... even if it means having to make a hybrid taillight.

EB and ED are identical as far as I'm aware. Boot garnishes depend on the model (Fairmonts and Ghias had nicer ones). Your tail lights are probably just dirty in the same way a lot of EF/EL headlights go yellow, same has happened to my ED.

Nah they're definately adequate, I'm pretty sure that they're not dusty... its just I think I have tail-light envy what with nearly every single modern car driving around with a nice multi angled reflector setup.

hey mate i know EXACTLY what your talking about! The ed tail lights just seem dull old for lack of a better word and you see newer cars getting around with brighter clean looking tail lights

You may consider an LED tail light conversion. Seen a few people with them and they can look pretty minties.
Plus, you can always chop up some inner reflectors from another car and retro-fit it to the inside of your EB lights.
Whatever you do, dont get clear tail lights thou. They are gayer than aids
