hi guys i did a full bottom end rebuild on my motor so engine and box came out while it was out i added 2500 rpm stall converter and service kit.

now it leaks from the bell housing and im fairly sure its atf what could be the problem??

Did you put some Silastic between the rear engine seal & sump? It could also be the front seal on the gearbox.

it could also be rear main

its dark so not 100% but feels thin like trans fluid i didnt silastic anything so i recon shortshift is on the money...

ive only ever worked on trans that have been removed with engine how hard is it to remove without pulling out the motor??

Did you blot the oil onto a white piece of paper to see if its brown ( engine oil ), or red ( tranny oil ).??????

its dark as in the colour of the fluid could be either
