any done it, in a past life I vaguely remember doing one, but I had a hoist, I'm looking the kits on Ebay, and using jacks, or am I better off getting Pro to do it.

its not hard if you no what your doing,
basically all you do is change the oil and filter. i doubt its do-able only using a jack, giv iy a go, nothin to lose, if you fail get a pro.

jack the front up as high as u can and place axle stands under car in the reccomened points
when u undo the pan bolts start from the back and work your way to the front this allows oil to flow and drain to the back of the pan. once u have removed the pan u will see a clip holding in the filter pull it out and the remove filter also when u remove the filter there is a small tube where it sits stick ya finger up there and see if the small plasitic seal has come out with it! wash the pan and magnet well and let dry then replace is reverser of removal use a small amount of gasket sealant to keep the pan gaslet in place. then refil with about 4 litres of the correct tranny fluid

cool, vaguely what I remember, good tip on the oil draining, how hard is it to get the oil back in.

not hard at all of you have this tool, cant remember what its called. i cant imagen you would get fluid into the tranny without it.
dam i dont no what its called. im sure someone else with more knowlege can help you out

Assuming you don't have a dip stick then you can get a $2 hand pump from supercheap that will do the job but you will need the car level to fill it, hence the stands and ramps.
Fill it up until it flows back out the filler. Make sure you have the correct fluid (TQ95 ?) not Dextron.

it is called a socket  no idea on the size and as t*** said u will need a small hand pump tp pump it into the tranny

dont buy the kits off ebay they are to dear i got one from a trasmission joint and it cost me $15 i even got the selector shaft seal and he gave it to me

Feel a bit stupid asking this, but doe's anyone know how the clip goes back on to hold the filter in place? or have a pic of it ( its for my ef )
It was a bit tricky to get off, i should of remembered where it was cliped on before ripping it off. Thing is i've done it all without using a jack ( someone's got my axle stands atm ) and I'm not too keen on using the jack, especially on my driveway. Any help would be appreciated. |

I usually get a workshop to do mine so they can flush all the old fluid out of the lines and torque converter etc. Stuff pumping 15 - 20L of fluid by hand.
