The 6 speed will not directly bolt in, a hydraulic clutch has to be used, no T56 bellhousing is capable of a cable clutch, the trans tunnel has to be hacked a little and the console needs to be moved back to allow for the shifter. And a 6 speed will need a custom bellhousing to suit a Windsor, IIRC Mal Wood have these available

So the cost is not really what it seems. I am thinking 6 spd auto though. A 5 spd manual involves enough gear changes for me, a six spd sounds like a real chore. I'd skip every second gear. But if it had a quick . . . what do you call that . . . motorbike style shift, that would make it a bit more bearable for me. Sequential, that's it.

It will with a lot of money and other bits and pieces. This is what I was sent from Mal Wood to convert my BA to a T56 (remember BA MK1 came with a T5 like the AU)
BA XR6T AUTO TO MANUAL T56 KIT Auto to manual parts:- New clutch pedal and carrier New hydraulic system New brake pedal pad New braided line New flywheel bolts New spigot bearing New mount & crossmember, New slip yoke New floor insert and boot New console insert Cost $1676 New T56 which has been blueprinted and fitted with our short throw shifter with new gearstick and knob $5390 New h\p clutch kit option 3 11” which includes new billet steel flywheel $1310 Fitting Cost $660.
