im going to respray mine black because they are faded.
is it worth priming or preparing the surface in anyother way before hand?

im also going to respray the boot seel (the one under the back window) but the paint on this is half peeled off, would that be worth sanding back with some high grit sand paper first? or will it not matter.

also one last question, gloss black or matt black :)?

cheers

Go matt/flat black You would hate gloss

I didn't sand mine back, but if the paint has flaked off and left layers you would want to.

The only preparing i did was rubbing metho over it then hit it with 4 layers of the flat black.

Turned out fine

i think either gloss or matt would be fine. i did my windscreen deflectors (black grill where wiper arms are) in gloss black. looks good, hasn't faded and the sun doesn't reflect off it. all i did was clean them with ct18. let it dry. no problems so far. will be good to see how urs turn out. something i've been thinking of doing for a while. take some pics as u go.

Have a look at my build thread..
No need to put primer.
Wet sand lightly to clean the surface before spraying.
Then wipe away with metho or thinners.
When you spray remember to apply dry coats only other wise it will dry but remain sticky.

I also did my rear window seal.

Matt black finish is the way to go.
I put about 6-7 dry coats
