Ok, please excuse my naivete and the fact that I have done a pretty extensive search on this site and couldn't find anything. As the topic asks, does the BA, BF turbo setup fit the earlier fords? If not, why not? Are any parts transferable. I figured there must a few of these hitting wreckers and such by now, or people doing upgrades and if it fits, it would be a nice upgrade.

Anyway, keen to hear peoples thoughts.

The manifolds have different bolt spacing.

Ports are in the same spot although oval instead of round so you could make an adapter I spose.

Thought it would be something as simple as that. Was there a specific reason why ford would have done that, apart from making it harder to retrofit onto the older models?

2 exhaust valves vs 1, port has to be wider.

he doesn't need the plenum, he's talking about the exhaust manifold.

is the ba manifold cast iron?

edit: just read that it is stainless steel. This should mean that it isn't as difficult to weld..

Not really, as they're 2 different products.
Also, the Nizpro intake plenums use the standard lower half of the BEM - so they don't directly bolt onto the head.

Meh, Just trying to help, They probably know of someone, but it would probably be better off getting a manifold made for e-series than retro fitting a b series, plenty of them out there anyway, plus by the time you source and buy a mod plate, it would probably work out just as cost effective to buy a manifold purpose built.

You can get new cast manifolds the same as the AIT and AVO kits of the late 80s and early 90s. They are virtually identical to the BA-BF manifolds. One place that I know of that you can buy them from is Mike Vine in Brisbane, google that name and you should find the workshop.
