Hi Guys,

I wouldve tried to do a search, but im at work and a mate of mine has just asked me to ask "if anyone knows the procedure to replacing an A/C Evaporator. Also where I can find a step by step instruction (possibly a repair manual), if not in the manual" ..for an EF GLi.

Or is there a link on here somewhere???

Many Thanks :D

hey mate,

pretty easy (lol)

-Remove the dash completley
-vent the AC refrigerant and disconnect the heater hoses
-remove the airbox, theres 6? bolts on the engine side of the firewall
-undo all the screws on the airbox and take the cover off, and the evaporator is the big silver one.

real prick of a job hey?

just wondering ... the 6? bolts on the engine side of the firewall, is anything blocking those bolts? as in does anything there need to come out/off?

I have been driving my car for 2 years without AC purely because I dont have the cash to get the evaporator fixed (was quoted around and up of $800) and I have nowhere the experience to do it myself, oh well, windows down in summer! old school!
