hi all.
after spending 7 weeks waiting for my motor rebuild to happen, its all finally back in the car. i have run into a electrical problem that has me stumped. some background info: dash has been out to change evaporator all motor has been out new gas system installed alright now for the problem: everything is back in, pluged in and piped up. when i turned ignition on, had no power to the background lights on the climate control or the odometer, no power to the gas switch and most the lights that should come on the dash i.e. motor fault light did not flash on. tried to crank the motor, have got no power to fuel pump, no spark from coil. the weirder part is i disconnected the ecu, and got all the backlights for the odometer and climate control, and power to gas back. as soon as i connected the ecu again they went off. ive checked all the fuses, all the engine bay wirering, the only plug i can find not connected is near the washer jet bottle- 2 pin connecter that was blue with green stripe, and blue with yellow stripe. pulled the dash back out and checked all the plugs are in. checked the dash ground, ecu ground, and the motor ground. im thinking it is definently somthing wrong with ecu, so tomorrow morning im going to check the power to the ecu, and the ground from the ecu with a multimeter. so... 3 questions: 1) is it llikely for the ecu to die seemingly for no reason? 2) does anyone know what the plug mentioned above is? 3) does anyone have any suggestions of what could be causing this? |

ok, incase anyone was wondering:
- the plug mentioned is for a wagon, therefor not used. the issue ended up being a relay under the washer bottle. thanks anyway. |
