Gday people,
Firstly im new to this site, But f**k ITS GREAT !!! :) i used to only browse aff.com.au but this place is so much better, no swear filters, no mods to tell you "to" use grammer. properly? :) and much more info that i find extremely useful :).

OK well, i recently bought 2 turbos for my 4.0l EF (damn ebay impulse buys). Theyre t04e t3/t4 hybrids theyre specs are below...

Inlet 3"
Outlet 2"
Bearing Wet Floating Bearings
Oil Inlet 1/8 NPT Oil Inlet
Flange Standard T3/T4 Flange,
Swaps 350 WHP
Working Pressure: 25~30 PSI
Compressor .50 A/R Compressor
Turbine .63 A/R Turbine
Compressor Wheel .57 T Compressor Wheel
Exducer: 3"
Inducer:2"
Turbine Wheel Exducer: 2.2"
Inducer:2.58"
Hot Side .58 5 Bolt Standard Hot Side

I have 2 seperate manifolds for them. My mods i will be running are : JMM dev5 cam, JMM 3000 Stally, Port n polished head w/xr6 exhaust valves and the obvious things i will need eg. aftermarket ECU, 3" exhaust etc.

What i want to know is should i keep these turbos n put them on or will they be not very suited?

What sort of power will i safely push?

any advise or ideas?

Thanks in advance people :)

i dont want to sound negative, or dissapoint you but if they are the "cheap ebay turbo's" dont expect a lot of power from them, they usually fail before you get the car on a dyno.
Plenty of info if you google it.

It's not to say you cant buy genuine Garrett turbos off ebay. Maybe check the serial numbers and find out whether they're genuine or just copies and then follow the above advice :)

Check out Precision sc61 turbo's
Or search T3/4 hybrids..
I made good power on a 5Ltr with two Nissan
VG30T turbos..
I bought my Precisions through www.pagparts.com
Plus $200 postage through www.usps.com
No tax or customs under $1k..
Two RB30 turbo's would work also..

I would be more concerned about the size of them than the quality. They are huge turbos to bee putting two on a falcon. Also my other concern is with the JMM cam, I understand it's for NA power. I imagine it has quite a bit of overlap which is not good for a turbo application.

I recon have a go with those turbos, but don't be surprised if they are too big and laggy or they fail in under a year or two.

thanks for the replies n advice fellas :)

The DEV5 cam does have quite a bit of overlap however JMM have said it will be relatively suited to a turbo application, which is good enough for me :)

EBXR8 cheers dude but i already got the turbos.

i dont kno whether to keep these or try flogging them off on ebay again. They are not a Garret i have some pics of the on my photoalbum if yas wanna have a looksy :)

MALAKAI yea i was thinking the same thing, especially with 2 seperate manifolds thus 3 cyclinders feeding each... but they do have a t3 turbine for faster spool and a t4 compressor for high flow. well thats what ive read any way do u think this will make a differance?

But yes i dont kno s**t about this stuff

They WILL work, you have already got them so I say give them a go. If you find that they aren't what you ultimately want then change them.

most of the cheap ebay turbos that i know of only have a 180 degree thrust in them not a 360,get a 360 degree thrust and should be better

Some of those cheap turbos can't be too bad, i've had a few mates use them with great results. One in particular is my mates series 4 rx7, ebay turbo on standard 13b, makes 360rwhp on 10psi, and has done for some time. Sometimes cheap s**t ain't exacty s**t.

Andrew.
