In my old red EA auto it had the round transmission mount. I saw this once when it was on a hoist.
I can't get under my Current T5'd EA to see the mount. Is it the single bolt round one, or the 2 bolt rectangular one? Series II, May 1990 if that helps... |

AFAIK the BTR 4 speed and T5 rear mounts are the same - two bolt mount to the extension housing, then the single stud through the crossmember.
The exhaust bracket and mounting plate do vary between the two though. Correct me if I'm wrong.

yep.
my series 1 ea had a round box mount..and when i pulled the auto out of my ed when converting it to t5 the mount was exactly the same as the ea one. the only difference was the ea gearbox x member was different to ed...but the mount was the same.. i have seen one with square mount but i think it might have been on a btr 3 speed?? |

you're all correct fella's. I got a diagram from Ford today, and it pictured the auto box seperately, it didn't appear to use the single-bolt round mount through the crossmember.
The T5 uses both the single-bolt round mount through the crossmember, and the horizontal 2 bolt job at the back of the box. The funny thing is, and contributed to my confusion is I do remember clearly seeing a bright red single-bolt round mount on my Ser I 3 speed.. Thanks for all your help. 1 more quick one, I wanna get the urethane Kelpro mounts - engine, and gearbox round one; has anyone tried these over the rubber ones? |
