Wipers still work on slow and fast, but not on intermitant. Where should I look. Is the switch hard to pull apart? Any suggestions?

Sounds crazy, but this function stopped the same time my rear demister, and interior light circuit blew it's fuse. Check your fuses.. only problem with mine is, there's a short, and the fuse blows straight away.. so I have no demister, interior light, or intermitten wipers.

all those functions are controlled by the BEM located behind the dash next to the handbreak lever will be a white or red box.
try a second hand one from a wrecker and see what happens. or just check the connections

All fixed. The problem was a blown CRT LP fuse. Yes the interior light and probably rear demister had stopped working as well. The cause of this was when I disconnected the boot light so that I could leave the boot up to dry without flattening the battery. For some reason disconnecting a wire from the boot light caused this fuse to blow. So Locknut, make sure you have a good globe in your boot light because as unlikely as it sounds, this may be why you are continually blowing fuses. Thanks for the help guys.

Cheers for the update, glad your's is sorted mate.
To fill in more of the story with mine, the highbeam switch in the indicator stalk is a little sensitive, and I must have bumped it during the day.. My neighbour knocks on the door that night and says, "dude, your car is ticking like mad" I thought.. WTF? Sure enough it was a headlight relay, and the battery had gone flat thanks to the headlights. This is the time the fuse died, and any replacement blew straight away. I will check the boot light... and will be sure to confirm if this fixes it!! |
