my stock 96 EF has very minor hesitation which is not big enough to be called a miss but can occur whether the is hot or cold, idling or under power and load. Have put new plugs and leads recently and cleaned the idle speed controller value as per matti's post in the tech documents. I dont know what to try next. Any thoughts or ideas will be welcomed

look at your fuel side of things, fuel filter and injectors may need replacment/clean.

yeah i had the same problem but it was dodgey leads. I would say ditto above.

coils are the only thing left on the ignition side..otherwise I agree start looking for a fuelling issue.
