can this be done? is it plug and play?
the EL Fairmont cluster is out of a 6 cylinder car! does this matter?
also the EL cluster has a sticker on it that says police 96da 10849 ba
vdo 12673

Police cluster, is plug and play. 6 or 8 doesnt matter for the EF/EL
You will need to change the sender for the Oil from a switch to a sender, bout 80 bucks from fraud. Sender is located in front of the oil filter next to the water pump. Need a 1 1/16 deep socket to replace

Regarding the Oil pressure sender, doesn't the EF Fairmont already have the correct one too? They also had the mid level cluster.

Cluster is a direct fit, and Yes, the tacho will work with a 6 or 8.

You'll need to remove the LCD dimming resistor from the police cluster for it to operate in a fairmont (as they have variable dimming) police spec had the hi/lo toggle *reason for resistor*

is the cluster actually out of an el Fairmont, if it is and is working in it, it'll be a straight plug and play. Otherwise normally copspec clusters were only in mid and low spec cars, which meant they needed a resistor added for dimming function etc. may have already ben done or something though, can always plug it in and give it a try.

check tech docs with regards to further info on the dimming function and that resistor etc.
