Have you tried FTG? Auto salvage in Dandenong is the only other one that i can think near you. 97915500. they might be closed over xmas but im sure they are only around $4-500.

Sorry for not responding to post and pm's, been busy. It will be easier for me if someone has the tranny and could fit it for me and give me a warranty or something like that. I also have a question would the au tranny fit on my ef gli? If so if someone has a low au tranny that will be great as well.

most wreckers are selling EA to AU gearboxes from 300 to 1000 dollars with 3 or 6 month warrantys etc. i would try them first as there is something to fall back on.
