Tennis racket?! They belong in the boot buddy! Just revert back to the stock setup with a high flow panel filter from bmc or k&n or the likes.. Lots of info on here if you have a quick search too.

Daniel, the tennis racket is the stock setup lol.
Don't know what would be a good aftermarket option though sorry. |

Well then there should be no need to change it; unless he has done some MAJOR modifcations which he is keeping to himself hehe; highflow filter should be more than enough IMHO. If you must go for wank factor n talking rights, go a pod and stuck in the good good hot dirty engine bay air lol!

Definitely MPFI, otherwise use a K&N Filter

Another vote for the multi-point conversion. CFI's really no better than a carby.

LOL, your not understanding Daniel... he has Single Point Injection, which is basically an electgronically controlled carby. So his stock air intake system looks like a carby, but they have intake pipe coming from it, pointing towards the headlight. Making it look like a tennis racket. And what I think he was asking was how to get rid of it. As for my answer, is another vote for MPFI, as its not hard to do, and its getting pretty cheap, and the gains speak for themselves. and then the upgradability. Definately go for MPFI. Cheers

Yes, ive never owned a vehicle that uses one but; what makes you think I've had it so easy, cars are more complicated now than ever! I tend to think when it comes to working on cars hardware the older cars are much more accessable and simplistic. Next door to us we have a guy with an old merc; that thing i can work on with him, but when it comes to my pos car i gotta pay someone to do most things for me as its too complicated without knowing what I'm doing.

Good gains should still be possible by advancing the timing and/or replacing the stock head gasket with the AU steel number to increase compression. CFI from memory is a low compression setup.
I still assume your actual question regards looking for a better aspirating setup? An aftermarket air filter (perhaps foam type), larger air pan/air ducting setup is also a posibility. just a little imagination required You can still get realtively good gains from the above plus a 2.5' exhaust before going the MPFI route.
