i drive an au fairmont ghia and ive realised that once the passenger puts their window down, the cant put it back up and only the button on the driver panel works.

is there somehting wrong with my window or motor? or is it a setting that i have mucked around with?

the front passenger can only put their window down but not back up. it doesnt even make a noise when u try and put it up so its not like the motor is struggling

please help

Sounds like the switch on the front passenger is faulty

get a multimeter on it and test to see if there is any voltage at the motor or the switch when the pass uses the window.

Sounds like soot buildup on the up contacts of the pass door switch - it takes more power to lift the window, so arcing, etc is possible.

Just pop the window switch out and carefully remove the wiring loom then apply some graphite powder or selleys easy glide to the moving contacts under neath you will see them moving when you press the button up on one side or down on the other. Just did the same thing last week on my new AU Fairlane.
