Hey modders,

Every time I try to fill my 97 EL wagon, it only takes about 10 litres and takes ages to accept it. when you try to fill it too fast it bubbles up and tries to come back out the filler hole.

The breather and filler pipes seem to be fine but I'm thinking one could be blocked.

Any suggestions?

Thanks guys, Pete.

is the little flap still inside the fuel filler neck? if you cant see it it may have broken off and is stuck part the way down the neck - youll have to push it down into the tank with a length of hose or something

Give the breather pipe a shot of compressed air to clear it out if it's blocked

Thanks for the responses guys!

I can see that the flap in the filler is in place, so no probs there.

I gave the breather a go with the air and it was full of fuel. It is possible, I'm thinking, that as my fuel gauge doesn't work, that the tank is in fact full. It's kinda hard to tell, so next fill, I'll see how much I can get in after a hundred k's. The reason I figured that the breather could've been blocked is that when filling, the fuel 'bubbles up', or so it sounds (that gurgling sound).

Anyways, I should have some wisdom at the end of this.

Thanks guys,

It turns out that I was simply retarded.
As I don't have a fuel sender, I had no idea how much petrol I had and every time I got LPG, I added petrol, as my car starts on petrol then switches to LPG.
Well, the problem was simply that the damn tank was full.

I'm an idiot. :-)
