I have a AU2 6cyl
Im planning to fit a cam which will range from 2500-6000rpm I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be worth me getting my stock AU2 torque converter 'reflashed' from its current stall speed of 1800-2000rpm to its maximum? Im hoping for 2500rpm. If not, what alternative stall converters are out there? also cost? I also understand I will need a trans cooler, but could I get away without having a LHM module?

wtf are u on about
u cannot "reflash" your torque converter reflashing is to do with electronic components NOT mechanical yes a trans cooler is good no matter what fit one! and wtf is the LHM module?

I thought you could remove the stock torque converter and get the insides of it modified to accept a higher stall speed. Well I thought you could with older transmissions like c4's etc. It can be called 'reflashing' in an attempt to move the standard stall speed to an alternate one. LHM = limp home module. Im trying to avoid having to use one if possible.

well essentially u are right
but never heard of it called re flashing most time a new convertor is purchased and replaced not sure if it is needed on your car the limp home module ?? there is a limp home function that is part of the gearbox if something goes wrong

change over convertor is the best way, I can get them though work, im running a 2800high stall, and yes you MUST fit a auto cooler, and FORGET about the radiator cooler, that was one of fords BIGGEST mistakes running the transcooler though the auto, I get about 3-4 falcons from EL-BF that do the heat exchange, I.E. you have your coolant in your radiator, running 95oC and you have your auto oil running though it at about 120oC there is only a plastic wall in a radiator between them, that cracks, coolant, and ATF mix, byebye radiator, bye bye gearbox ... "heat exchange"
If I ever get another car, first thing i would do is fit an auto cooler.

I can override the hi stall LHM in EF/EL ECUs with a chip... cant do AU yet tho, sorry!

hope its nothing like the shift kit auto resistor mod! I've seen bad thing happen with that ... or the resistor mod to lock up 3/rd 4/th gear!!!! = bigger problems!
