I have a EF i was wondering if the EL intake pipe fits perfectly onto the EF air box and other bits with no modification... like drilling new holes...
and how much would all the bits cost me from the wreckers everything up until the EF air box if anyone knows... thanks |

yes its a direct swap - no need for any drilling or mods at all.
as for cost... no idea i'm afraid! i've got one here, but i got it off a mate w/ a K&N filter & airbox for ~$150 - which is a little less than wreckers would be charging

Hold your horses mate.
The EF airbox lid has an 80mm outlet for the piping. The EL lid has a 55mm outlet. Therefore the first section of pipe on EL's tapers from 55mm up to 80mm. In my case. My EL now has an EF lid. To mate the lid to the rest of the EL piping, I replaced the first section of piping with a length of 80mm PVC pipe. I spray painted the PVC with satin black paint to make it blend in with the rest of the piping. It works a treat.

Yeah.
Obviously the lids them selves are identical. The fitting that is bolted to the lid, with 4 bolts, is different. The EF fitting has the 80mm outlet while the EL fitting has a 55mm outlet. Correct me if I'm wrong. If you fit a 3" mandrel bent intake tube, you would unbolt the fitting from the lid and stick the end of the tube through the hole in the lid.

i think i read that on the jmm website.. yeah it is as it sucks air from the middle of the airbox as opposed to one side, very small difference. you can just build a layer of duct tape on the el pipe and then fit it on the ef box, i've done this as i'm a lazy prick

thanks epitome i get ya
i think i will not get the el piping because of that last pipe wrecks the system if it stayed 80mm to 80mm at the end wouldve been good. does anyone know where i can buy a direct pipe to fit at the start to end of the EF... is there anyshop that makes em for particular cars ready to go on? 80mm all the way it would probably be 90mm to fit over the hole but i guess they would know that... |

Why don't you just buy one of the mandrel bent 3" pipes from off of here?
