Hi guys Long time no post, any way I sold my sonata and now have a 2008 Nissan patrol wagon lease car so i will be needing a second car.

I would realy like a EFII or EL Fairmont ghia, but would consider a tidy Futura or above series II at least

Must be tidy, dont mind the odd small dent or 2 but somthing that has generaly been looked after,

dont mind if it has a few KMs as long as it has been looked after and has a maintnance / service history and is in good condition

would prefer a stocker, dont want big wheels or lowerd suspension just a set of 15" alloys

Must be cheap to run, doing a lot of highway KMs

needs to be roadworthy no more money to spend

would love a manual but what are my chances of finding one for $5k (silly me for selling my manual ghia 3 years ago)

that impresive very tidy, but unfortunatly a bit out of my price rang of what i want to spend, but then if you where willing to lower the price minus the preformance parts and within my budget i would consider

checked out 2 cars today in rockhampton,
first was a 97' EL GLi 140kms tidy but the old bloke in the dealership had $6995 on it didnt quite have the heart to tell him.

2nd was a 99 AU fairmont, 17" tickford wheels, but 315Kms on the clock, prety good condition considering the kms on it, paint was good except for a bit of clear coming off the bumper, tranny looked as it was recently replaced also had alloy nudge bar and spotties, tint was a bit crappy and had not been detailed yet. dealer had $5k on it

Now her is the funny part, the fairmont had Ghia badging on the back and sides and on the door trims as well as woodgrain finish, but no tickford motor no premium sound and no tickford LSD and velour seats?

yeh im willing to remove some stuff off it if it means i sell it. let me know your thoughts.

oh yeh and series 1 ghia was optional tickford stuff.
prob dont even have chrome handles too?!

na from memory no crome door Handles, I Always thaught fairmont ghia From EF II onwards = tickford goodies leather and crome, Some thing didnt look right to me, never said anything about being a ghia in the owners hand book either.

I have found a car EF II fairmont ghia, tidy, standard, full service history, and the good thing is i know the previous owners, so all thoes kms are highway, and also its my neigbours car so dont have to travel to get it.
$5k with with roadworthy,
