Hi all,
I am interested in getting my 91 eb xr8 going a bit harder. I have a stock engine, exhaust system, k & N air filter and a cold air intake. My situation is that the car has only done 140,000kms and its mint, so I dont want to go putting new heads on or anything like that. A local dyno man told me if i got say an aftermarket ecu, he would be able to piggy back that to my ecu and have it control fuel and timing (possibly others), and get the old girl going a bit harder.

My question is, can someone shed some light on how this might work and what could be a good unit to buy. Also any sensors, looms etc i may need. Again i dont want to open up the motor (keeping it original) so if i could gain say 25+ kw by this piggy back deal I'd be happy, any thoughts comments?

Thanks Justin

Advance your timing and run a higher octane fuel.

Fair suggestion, I'm wondering if anybody can point out to me the benefits of piggybacking an aftermarket ecu to a stocky. Also approximate power gains per suggestion would be handy
