Depending on how hard you want to go, and how much you want to spend.
Thats a 600 Holley, and it went like hell, no probs. Food for thought.

That combo there did over a BA XR8 auto sedan, twice.
The guy in the XR8 wouldn't believe it was a six ( centre mounted air cleaner out the bonnet ), till he saw it, and couldn't believe it, a dirty old pushrod inline six had done over his 260 XR8.
Do you wish to know what was in it???

Billet Crow cam (can't remember the P#) about 30/70 & a shade over 0.500" lift with valvesprings to suit, anti-pump up lifters ( further modified), high tensile pushrods, Hi-volume oil pump, hardened dizzy gear, adjustable timing chain set ( with 2dgs advanced cam timing, modified/regraphed electronic XD dizzy, MSD 6AL ignition ( a must, was worth just over 25rwhp), modified internals on fuel pump, Holley 600 vac sec sq bore ( modified, centre float bowls, etc), adjustable roller rockers ( yellow terra ), ported & polished alloy head, multi-angle valve cut, 10:1 comp ratio, Redline 4 barrel intake manifold port matched to the head, Genie comp extractors, 3" exhaust, 4sp manual, 2.92 LSD ( rear disc jobbie), ran on PULP. base timing was about 16 BTDC. S/plugs were BPR5EY.
The thing would rev to 6500rpm, and 200kmh was easily done.
If the bloke that owned it was on the ball, he would still have it, but wanted a " Family" car, so now has a BA XR6 sedan in a yucky purple colour.
There you have it.

Theres more to it than that, like getting rid of the EST system, and regraphng the dizzy ( XD or XE unit ), to suit the cam.
You'll get very little if you just start chuckin parts on it willy-nilly.
You need a plan, and stick to it, then you get great results.

Depending on chosen mods, an increase from 20hp to 200+hp, it all depends how far you want to go.
