Just wondering if anyone has on their extractors exhaust wrapping, ive seen some of the wrap here and there in shops but mostly on ebay, such as ....

If you read the small print in the warranty for Pacemaker extractors, the warranty is void if you put a wrap on them.....don't know about other manufactures though.

It could be to do with the type of steel that they use in the tubing. You can buy sheets of heatsheild material from Repco, or similar places. It's made by ACL, and is the same stuff they use on the BA & later falcons.

Hi, the reason that wraping voids warrantys is that as the exhaust cools moisture collects in the fibres of the wrap then rusts the pipes. Ok for race cars but for the street use ceramic coatings like compitition coatings & etc. Cheers Michael

Ahhhh excellent ! thanks for the help I have been looking at ceramic coating, just was not sure on the pricing for it thought wrapping may have been a cheaper option. Cheers

I've been using an exhaust manifold blanket on my Pacies for a couple of years, had them off the other day and it hasn't caused any issues. I have the blanket set up so it covers the top of them, the underside is still exposed, and it doesn't wrap around all the pipes.
