Hey guys.

My daily driver is having major carby dramas, so i will be fitting the spare, perfect condition falcon weber i have onto it. The engine in question is a mitsubishi 2.6 4 cyl.

I have researched fitting this carby, and it appears to be not only a good performance swap, but also way better economy and performs better while 4x4ing, of course the carby needs to be re-jetted to suit the 2.6.

The only info i can't find, is ideal jet sizing for the falcon weber. Does anyone have/seen a chart, or even know the mathematical equaitions to figure this out??

Thanks lads.

i'd be tempted to just bang it on and see what it's like. if you have access to an air fuel ratio meter of some description might be handy too. or get someone to dyno tune it.

i put this carby on a 2.6 mitsubishi scorpion and i must say it made a huge difference to the way the car performed..
but i did find i used more fuel..
this may have also been because it now went better and it was a s**t box! so i just kept floging the a** out of it for fun rather than floging it in frustration of trying to get it up and moving with the std carbi

i put it straight on no jet mods just straight of the falcon onto the 2.6 via adaptor of a***..

hey guys, thanks for replys, i forgot about this thread, lol.

I'm kind of baffled troyman that it actually ran straight off the falcon, i thought it'd flood like f**k. I found sound post somewhere on the interweb telling me to use certain sized jets, and leave the air correctors standard. I did this, along with rebuilding the carb, and it runs like s**t. I cant seem to get it to run right, and i dont know why.

I bought one of those jaycar air fuel meter's, but it is way to hard for me to assemble. But the symptoms of the car seem way f**k up, it doesn't really point to a certain thing to me. It does seem like its getting too much air, possibly simple air corrector change, but it just doesn't seem like it'd cause this much of a problem.

I'm not at all looking for great performance, rather i'm looking for better economy than the 25 litres per 100 the mitsu carb gave me, with a little more power for 4x4ing, so there wont be any head mods, or any enigne mods really. I just want it to run, without using 3 times the fuel it should, and only giving me half the power it should.

Hey troyman, what kind of economy did the scorpion give you with the standard jets?

Andrew.

use a 32/36 weber off a 2 litre escort or cortina, they are perfect size for a standard 2.6 and will give you good economy also.

I used the falcon one fro 2 reasons

1- from people i know using them, they are better for 4x4ing, as the dgv webers for some reason cop fuel starvation/flooding from the bouncing around, and the adm's dont.

2- I had it, and i had a rebuild kit for it, so i used it.

After taking a drive last night and driving to work today, it now performs beautifully. She has never driven so smooth, been so responsive, or reliable like it is now, i'm very happy with it.

Only problem is the air correctors are still a tiny tiny bit too big. I think if i drop to around 145-150's it will be sweet as your nanna.

Andrew.

Yeah, ken oath.

I'm not sure on economy yet, but it looks like it will be heaps better than before.
