If as you say you know nothing. I'd recommend you go see a car audio shop (no JB/Strathfield aren't car audio shops). They'll set you in the right direction.

i just fitted an mp3 /dvd unit under the icc and had a direct sub line fitted to the original stereo , look up asl logistics ,they made the whole kit no cutting wires or crap all plugs into factory loom and you can still use all your controls for the icc

You know you can get a single din adaptor on ebay for the BA don't you? Saves you cutting the dash up. Take a look through this thread for some ideas...

http://www.fordmods.com/forums/show-and ... 9-280.html

Pg. 15 has a BA with what i'm talking about. What do you plan on putting in your car? Just the headunit? Speakers? Subs and Amps?

Yeh all of that, but i still want to use the controls on the steering wheel. and wont it look a bit gay with another head unit in there, aswell as the factory one?

Yeah it does look a little odd with the extra HU and can be inconvenient without the steering wheel controls but i'm sure you'll get use to it. The benefits of an aftermarket HU is worth the trouble, especially if you plan on a half decent system with amps and subs etc.. depends what type of system you are aiming for. BTW in my AU falcon i got a HU with a remote control which makes up for the loss of the steering wheel controls :D

It's funny that you say this though because your reasoning is why i didn't bother putting a stereo system in my old BA! Anyways, if you want a quick fix you could always keep the original HU and use a line output converter. What this enables you to do is convert say your rear speaker wires into RCA, from which you can then run an amp and in turn, a sub and your rear speakers... This requires no removal of the ICC unit and best of all you can keep your steering wheel controls!
