i have an un-secured sub box in my boot and when i took a corner it slid around and snapped the male connector in my amp,
would it be easy to fix? anyone replaced one before? also, any ideas on how to best secure the box without drilling or ruining the carpet with valcro?

Yes, new RCA plugs can be bought from a Jaycar or d**k Smith store.
As for the sub box, velcro works well, it won't damage the carpet unless the box still moves around.

If you can solder or know someone that can , visit Jaycar / Tandy or d**k for a new connector.

Maybe you can make a bracket to attach the box to the parcel shelf....

just go to the back of your parents dvd player, choose whichever color suits your sub, cut it off and attach the wires hanging off the rca to your own cable. You can solder it, crimp it or use connectors. connectors are the easiest, but look messy, soldering or crimping in conjuction with using a bit of shrink gives it that professional finish that will win you awards.

try getting 2 slats of wood, about 100cm X 40mm X 10mm.
get some small L shaped brakets from bunnings. Screw 2 brackets onto the sides of the box and screw through the carpet into the wood. Cut the wood so it fits tight underneath the carpet. worked for my mates vs and the sub box never moves. youll never see the holes in the carpet if you were to take it out. |
