get the spacer and graphite gasket and put them in the bin, then go and buy a genuine mls au gasket

If your going to run under 14 Lb the std comp will work fine..
If your after more power? Then dropping compression is the go..
Plenty have used two AU head gaskets without issues with NEW head bolts..
If your SURE you are going to run low boost? Then single std AU head gasket is fine..
Keep in mind two AU head gaskets being being multy layer metal.. It's fine to double up on them..
Cometic make MLS gaskets and compression can be change on them this way...
Cometic TMK don't make head gaskets for these engines..But if its good enough for them to do this
on Chevy/ Dodge and Ford engine's its fine here...

Raising head with gaskets works ok on small bore engines like our 6's ..
But it can lead to detonation on V8's or larger bore motors..
This also depends on combustion chamber design and quench area..
If there is a large area between head and block ?
The exhaust flame can still burn and ignite early on next compression stroke..
This is NOT really an issue with sohc motors..

For example the M351/ M400 Clevo engine that superseded the 351 Clevo in U.S was used
on commercial vehicles.. Bassicaly the same Clevo block with higher deck height.. The piston was down the bore to reduce compression..
This engine detonated it's nuts off even tho comp was around 8.5 to1 ..
By rebuilding engine with flush piston deck.. The detonation disappeared!!!
With compression just over 9 to 1..

I consider over 15b Lb as getting high in boost levels..
Our ED/AU Fairmont is tuned to 15 Lb ...
You have to consider size of turbo etc..
In some cases much more and the compressor heats the air more than compressing it as
it falls away from its efficiancy..
Valve springs etc need to be changed OVER 15 Lb boost and better cam is required also..
Which seems to be higher lift and wide Lobe centre's of 116, 114..
Keep in mind tune comes into play here.. No point in raising boost with an in tank that won't supply enough fuel.. Same with injectors.. I would head straight for 42 Lb as they are fairly common these days..Over 15 Lb is about where you have to think about lower static compression...
A T04Z has bigger comp map at higher boost compared to Gt3540 for example ..
