had some fun and games the other day with my 400. Basic IMPCO gear, mildly modified heads, stage2-3 cam, but stock everything else. i wanted to try to power it up a bit with some extra timing as i was told LPG likes that a bit. tweaked the dizzy around until the revs picked up and then backed it off a touch (with the vac hose off of course).running about 18 deg, and it felt a lot better. problem was the mongrel wouldn't start again. had to basically wind it all the way back to 12-13 deg to get it to start properly and this is only a couple of degrees past stock. Am i on the right track and will it be ok to try with the good single plane in my shed that is waiting for a new carby, or something else like the distributer. also any good dizzy's/suppliers out there that won't break the bank? there are some cheapy's but i've been told not to touch them with gorse they're that bad. Help anyone?
