Also, WD40 isn't really any good for lubing cables at all.
Your far better off with a Teflon or Wax based lube, Finnish Line make some great products for cables, but as above, if its binding, its shagged.

actually i found silicon lube works the best its thae same stuff in essence that they use at ford to lubricate power window runners
