i did a search and well, yeah,
i know this has been done and want to know what was invovled. i want to put the ef auto shifter knob into my ea.

you have to do something under the car though don't you.
disconnect the linkage to get the ea shifter out ?

You can use the standard shifter shaft, but will need a longer centre rod, I used a tent peg and hit one end with the angle grinder to round it off. If you change the shifter shaft to the shorter unit, you will need to remove your centre console (not entirely necessary, but makes it easier to access the base) and remove the retaining bolt which holds the base of the shaft onto the selector pin. I think it's a 13 or 14mm ring spanner needed for the nut.

how long did the new rod have to be ?
my mrs will crack the s**t if i take to much apart.
