Hey guys,
This one is a simple one,
Whats the easiest way to replace the ignition coil in an AUII
Am finding it a b**ch of a job because i cant find a way to get access to it.
I tried removing the air box etc but i still cant seem to get access to it.
Oh and what is the firing order on the leads? I either have them the wrong way around or one of the connections on the lead isnt right because its idling like a 3 legged dog dying.
I would of used the search function but apparently its not up and running yet.

Thanks in advance
-David

to get access to the coil pack, best route of access is from under the car, head near firewall, feet out the front, go up from the side of no cyl, the in the guts of the BBM coil pack fie order I've forgotten, someone else can advise please.

Easiest way to remove the once the leads have been removed.

Is to remove the air intake tubing from the throttle body to the air box then with a led light and a 1/4 drive or 3/8 drive set with a long extension undo the bolts from the top through the inlet manifold,i think from emory there are 3 or 2 that hold it to the plate for the engine mount.

Now for the firing order the new coil pack or old coil pack should have the order shown in number sequence on top of the coil pack.

problem is with the location of the coil pack you cannot actually see the top of it to read the firing order.½ the time you are lucky to touch it, reading anything off it... good luck. when i replaced my coild pack i moved it so I would not have that issue. Just a case of running the loom out a bit and the other bits and pieces.

Yeah well if you had a torch handy and it is a genuine ford coil pack all you have to do is look down through the inlet manifold and you will easilly see the numbers on top of the coil pack. They are stamped right beside each plug post.

As said, is best accessed from underneath the car, unless you have a friend with really skinny arms.

I have attached a picture of the firing order.
