hey guys i have a earthquake tnt 4ch
its runs my sub on 3rd and 4th channel which is bridged
and runs y alpine type s splits on 1st and 2nd

wiring is all 4ga with a 80amp fuse near battery

earth is fine ..also 4ga

this is all installed into a ba falcon that has the stock body ground for the battery which is 8ga by the looks of it.

now the problem is the amp cuts out and goes into protection mode at around 22 volume..
this is better than what it was when i had 8ga wire it only went to 15 volume..

can you guys explain why it cuts out its got me stuffed

Earth Quake Like to suck POWER you may have to goto 0ga
Also is the paint scratched of where it goes to the body?
is it a screw or a bolt if a screw USE a nut & bolt
plus your amp tuning may be wrong?
hope this helps

Upgrade the earth from the body to the battery, AND add an earth from the battery to the alternator mount point.

Also mate before you go playing with earths etc just try either setting your amplifier gains (if your amp allows you to change them physically on the amp) right down or to the defaults should 0db...

Then disable any equaliser effects such as Loud mode etc

Does protection mode stick kick in....you may have things cranked up too high....just cause it sounds good and your speakers/woofers go louder doesnt mean its safer for you or your equipment

quite obviously though if you can't use your amp to it's full potential then theres something wrong. it's not about bandaid solutions when it comes to potentially burning your pride and joy to the ground.

if i had a dollar for every 12v electrical fault thats ruined many a thousand dollars worth of car i'd be alot better off.also amount of mates that have welded copper cable to the body of their car is surprisingly amazing,

conclusion: do things properly.keep earths short and the same size if not bigger than the supply, always use properly rated fuses AND HOLDERS! and always ensure all connections are tight and longivity is kept in mind.
