I'm just typing up a spec sheet for my mate's car in the All Ford Day, Geelong, on 15.2.09.
His V8 NF2 Fairlane Ghia was recently re-engined with one from an AU XR8.
How is the V8 from that era described? (For example, some AU six-cylinder engines are known as VCT.) Thanks :)

What model, year AU as they varied from 185 kw to 220 depending on model..
If it has 19 Lb injectors [orange] it will be the 185..
If it has blue injectors 24Lb. It will be either 200 or 220 k.w..

e-series use the HO, found in light bodied mustangs.

Au's use the "Explorer", simply cause the engine is from a ford explorer

Oh and all series2 AUs used the 24lb blue injectors wether it be the 175 through to the 220.

Also not all AU six cylinder engines have VCT so people just call them AU 4.0L.
Likewise you could just say it's an AU 5.0L engine.

Good.

24lb are Blue, orange are 19lb's.

185kw got smallish cam and pressed steel rockers.
200kw, got biger cam and 1.6 roller rockers.
220kw got a decent cam and 1.72 roller rockers.

Throttle body size differ from model. They got gt40p heads too.
