i just had a look and apparantly bpt do do an e series underdrive.
question i have is if you underdrive the accessories then aren't they working below capacity ? ie: water pump not moving as much water, p/s not producing as much pressure at idle & s**t air-con ?

yeah, they are generally only underdriven around 10%, which is still ok for street use. If you go much over 15% you really need to have a higher idle/spend more time higher up in the revs or there is a noteable effect on accessories.

i see, so how does loss at grandpa driving (most use of climate control & slow speeds) compare to gain with hard driving ? personal preference ? or anything on paper ?

I haven't actually used them. Maybe have a search around in the v8 section as they are more widely used there due to availability.
When I get my new car I am looking at making a set up, however at this stage not including a/c or crank pulley. The main reason for this isn't inspired by any gain in power, more so the s**t looking stock power steering pulley. But I run a fairly decent sound system so will be able to test how the alternator's charge is affected.

the water pump, alternator and air con would be my biggest concern respectively. wondering if you could change the balancer size and change all pulley sizes to retain the factory rpm but changing the 'fulcrum' resulting in the same power gains.
<fires up another 2 cylinders>

nice deffinate answer, i like that. so my climate control would not operate at full efficiency ? nore would my alternator or my water pump ?
almost sounds dangerous, i'd rather buy an electric water pump. been very imforming.

By fulcrum do you mean moment of inertia?
Yes you could, but you would need to get a custom harmonic balancer made, plus if you went smaller on crank pulley you would also need to go smaller on your other pulleys to get them to spin at the factory rpm's. You would also obviously need a shorter belt. It depends on the degree underdriven an accessory is as to how its performance is affected, if it is less than 10% underdriven the effect would be negligable.
