I dont know much about AU's or what type of AU you have (Falcon/Fairmont/Fairmont Ghia or whatever) but if it comes standard with an Amp then you be best running of that as long as the amp can produce enough power for the sub which it probably wont :lol:

You'd be better off with a new head unit and amp and sub combo i reckon.

Yeah you can. You need to use a line level converter, which takes the sound signal from the existing speaker wires, and allows you to run normal rca's to an amp, then as long as the amp has a Low Pass Filter, it will be suitable to run a sub.

Hope that makes sense.
