Can i put a V8 into my EF Fairmont Ghia 6 Cyl without Engineer's Certificate?

I'm not trying to be a smart-a***, but would it not end up being cheaper in the long run to just go out and buy a V8 Fairmont Ghia or Xr8 or anything with the V8 already in it?

of course it would be cheeper but everything else in the car has been modified no expence spared its also my car that ive owned from brand new,plus i already have built a v8 with nothing to put it in.

Yeah mate i am pritty sure you can as long as the car had that option from factory you can change to it.

Not sure what you call it in Vic, but in NSW all you would need is a blue slip to get it registered (no certificate required, as long as any changes to a factory 5L and supporting components wouldn't have needed one on a 5L EF). Use the EF or EL 5L ECU and loom, use the EF/EL V8 mounts (they'll bolt straight on anyway), a roadworthy exhaust (with cats, mufflers etc) and everything else that would make it perfectly legal if it had started out as a 5L EF.
