Hey Guys.

This is something i completely did not forsee. Apparently the motors in auto's are different to the motors in manuals. I never knew that.. Maybe they're not because TBH I've never seen the behind the back end of a factory manual..

But the problem is, the bearing at the very back of the motor, the spiggot bearing is sticking out in such a way that I can't get the gearbox to sit right.

voxaces guide, found here viewtopic.php?t=42420 advises that all I need to do is gently hammer it into the back of the crankshaft.

Well.. won't that fk it?

Voxace (or anyone else who's done this) is in the house, please explain what happens to the bearing once its been 'gently hammered into the back of the crankshaft'

ive fitted two spigots into motors that were factory auto's, the motors are the same, hell ive heard of some factory autos with spigot bearings, the crank in your motor should just have an indent for the spigot bearing to fit in.

there are two differnt types available, one is longer than the other, im currently using the shorter one (last motor had the bigger one), with no problems.

they do require to be tapped in, used a rubber mallet, not hard.

Ok cool so if I just give it a little tappy, no one's gonna complain. I thought so, just wanted to check because, although I enjoy fixing things with hammers it's gotten me into strife before :P

Dirp. I was missing the spiggot bearing. That's why I was confused, because I thought that if I tap that bearing back it would just leave a gaping hole at the back of the crankshaft..

Show is back on.
