are we talking a touch richer or touch leaner? You're not giving out much info here. starting to sound more like a case of we couldn't get it to work so we'll just blame the cam and whinge about it. |

Stock with only a 2.5 mandrel exhaust the car made 132kw with an afr of 12.0:1
With the cam, extractors, 3" intake, 2.5" mandrel exhaust it made 138.2kw with an afr of 12.4:1 I'm not sure what else we were supposed to do, we hired a dyno for half a day to try to get it right. We retarded it as far as the cam gear would let us then advanced it one increment at a time all the way to the other end. The sweet spot was found at two degrees advanced. The dyno operator/tuner also saidthat The cam wasn't doing what it was speced to do.

Just a little update. Dropped in my new waggot cam today, a mile better than the crow item. It actually does what it's supposed to do. Hopfully I'll getit on a dyno in the next week or so and I'll post some numbers.

TROYMAN wrote: i have the crow 519 cam that i got 2nd hand in my ed and to be honest the rwkw isn really impressive.. i only got 125rwkw but it peaked with 375nm torque which is fantastic for towing and climbing hills..
but i would have liked more. its only there mild cam but i think i could have made a better choice of cam lol.. A lot can be gained from a custom tuning unit too. I have an EA 3.9 MPFI with a ported & polished head, Pacie Comps, homemade exhaust & a Morristech piggyback ECU. I managed to get 186 rwhp out of it, rattles and all. The torque curve was quite flat.

you will find a custom tune is needed to get a cam working properly behind an AU cause it tries to relearn back to factory settings.... or something like that |

so it wasn't getting the lift the spec sheet said? the valve timing was wrong? what wasn't it doing? |

Itwasnt providing the lift it was supposed to. Crow said they would check it over when they got it back and let me know if it was the right grind but I haven't heard a thing from them and they got it back nearly 2 weeks ago. A guy on ford forums said the cam he got for his v8 doesn't match any of the specs that crow supplies and it was supposed to be an of the shelf grind. I don't know what their doing down there but it's been a s**t experience for me.

Ok as promised an update, the car is still untuned and managed a healthy 157 rwkw with the waggot cam. So to those who say it can't be done all it takes is some research and persistance. Tuned I can't see why it can't make 170.
I want the 1st 13sec AU!!!

can you post the specs of your cam? thats a freaky number for cam and exhaust mods and no tune. I want to see how it compares to the 1671 i picked up off wade cams.
if it makes 170 may my eyes fall out of my head...
