Hey guys,
My EF XR6 has developed a problem in the way of not starting :P

The car turns over, but doesnt blast into action. Just sits there pumping away with no result.
The battery has plenty of charge, and i can hear the petrol pump whir as i turn the key, its got 1/2 tank of fuel in it. Trying to start it, it seems like te petrols run out.

Stupidly i left it out in the 40+ weather over the w/e, so im thinking that possibly affected it, it didnt get driven however.

Im certain it something totally simple, it just got dark before i could look at it properly, and i need it for work tomorrow...
Any knowledge/help would be awesome!

EL's

Main thing to check is Spark.
1: Coil
2: TFI module
3: Fuel Pump

BEM's fail all the time, rarely crank but i doubt it'd crank without spark.

EF's

Look out for crank sensor and Fuel pump.
coil packs don't fail very often.

If you find your spark is weak or only sparks after a few cranks I would check to make sure the ECU is providing the negative trigger to the coil packs. If it isn't then your ECU is stuffed.

Seen it before now on 2 EF's in the last year. Both of these cars died while driving and refused to start correctly and idle. While pumping the gas and cranking the engine, you could just get them to start after about 15-20cranks, but then they would stall after a few secs.

Well on the EF i got a very weak spark. The thing is that sometimes if i leave it for a while ant try to turn it on its just about to start, then 2nd and 3rd time just cranks Normally.

Thanks for all the sugestions my EF 4L its fixed.

It was just the Petrol Pump it had just died for some reason.

Picked it up from Shepparton BURSONS for $120 not bad price.
( Lucky it didnt die on the way to country in middle of the Fires.!!!)
