Hey all,
I did have an aftermarket alarm system in my EL Fairmont but i lost the only remote i had. I pulled the fuze out for the system so i can use my car. I want a new alarm stystem and i would like some thoughts or ideas from people whether i should get an aftermarket system or convert back to the traditional ford system. Any thoughts, Ideas, Prices and places where i can get it done would be appriciated. Cheers Zacha001

TThere are no real dramas with the original system that can't be resolved by reading the Smartlock guides in the forums.I have removed 1/2 a dozen aftermarket systems from vehicles and taken them back to stock.A lot of people had alarms fitted because salesmen tell them that the originals were s##t and they need the best protection but seriously the factory systems are very good .Most aftermarket systems can be bypassed by someone with minimal experience and some small jumper leads.Unless the alarm is part of the electronics of the car it is suspect.Just my thoughts and from my experience IMHO.Cheers Kevman
