I've just bought a cheap EF series 1 GLi wagon at salvage auction that has had some small amount of damage I gotta fix to get it back on the road.
It's a cheap runabout and trailer tower, not a daily driver ( got a 4 cylinder car for that) so I don't care about the dent in the guard or the scrape on the rear wheelarch or the ding in the tailgate...just need it roadworthy and registered.

It was run into a ditch which has mildly bent the front bumper, and punctured the oil cooler that sits behind it...I have been told this is probably for the transmission?
Also been quoted nearly $200 from Ford for a new one...

Also it seems to have copped a rock or something on the left wheel, which was flat, and the radius rod seems to be a little bent.
Are these hard to remove, and could I get away with straightening it or will I need to find another one?
Also, does the radius rod adjust the castor like they do on an XF?

Never had anything to do with E series before...ran an XF for a while, and an XE, my brother had an XY ute which I used to fix regularly and we have a Mk1 Transit with a 250 and a lot of other early Falcon bits but this is the first E series I have messed with.

I think I'm gonna have plenty of questions as this goes ahead, thanks for the help in advance :D

The struts bars are not adjustable. Maybe it would be good to get a workshop manual, it will answer most questions, then come on here with the curly questions that the manual isn't forward with.??? :|

The search for a manual is underway...I've got them for XCs and XEs and so on, but I don't need it for them half the time, this thing is a new kettle of fish...

They sure are.....when you get it right, the steering & suspension, they are nicer to drive than the X series......my opinion...LOL

Only driven it up and down the dirt road outside my place, 'cos it isn't registered.
Feels heaps more powerful than the Xs and much more responsive.
Feels real light in the back too, spins the wheels up real easy even when you don't want to, like coming out of a tight turn on gravel.
Wish it had LSD...
